THE PARTICIPATION OF INDONESIA ON 18TH KAZAKHSTAN INTERNATIONAL TOURISM FAIR 2018 IN ALMATY

In the framework of promoting Indonesia culture and tourism in Kazakhstan, the Embassy of Indonesia in Astana in cooperation with the Ministry of Tourism of the Republic of Indonesia has participated at the 18th Kazakhstan International Tourism Fair (KITF) 2018, held at Atakent Exhibition Hall, Almaty on 18 - 20 April 2018. Three Indonesian travel agents namely PT. Pacific lnterindah Tour & Travel, Marintur Indonesia, dan Lisa Tour and Travel were involved. More than 340 companies from 30 countries took part in the exhibition.
 
KITF 2018 was officially opened by Chairman of the Tourism Industry Committee of the Ministry of Culture and Sport of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Mineur Murzamadiev and Deputy Mayor of Almaty, Asel Zhunusova. Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia in Astana, H. E Rahmat Pramono also took a part in the exhibition.
 
During the three days exhibition, the 54 square meters Indonesia pavilion was design and decorated with the accent of Borobudur Temple, with posters of 10 top tourist destinations in Indonesia. The Sasando music and traditional dances performance by Indonesian artist brought by the Ministry of Tourism of the Republic of Indonesia has certainly done their wonder attracting public to visit the Indonesian pavilion. To attract more visitor interesting games were also organized at the Indonesian pavilion.

At the side line of the exhibition, the Embassy of Indonesia also arrange business meeting between tour operation of Indonesia and Kazakhstan to explore business cooperation. Some local tour operators also spontaneously visited Indonesian pavilion to meet with Indonesian tour operators.
 
The number of Kazakh tourist visiting Indonesia has increased significantly after the government of Indonesia implemented 30 days free visa regime that include Kazakh tourist in September 2015. The projection of Kazakh tourist coming to Indonesia in 2018 is around 5000-6000 visitors.
