Innauguration of Indonesian Cultural Center in Astana, Kazakhstan

To promote of Indonesian culture in Kazakhstan, the Indonesian Cultural House was established in Astana in 2016. However, in August 2017, the Embassy moved the Indonesian cultural house to a more strategic place in order to be more attractive the people of Kazakhstan to come and visit the cultural house. This new Indonesian culture house was inaugurated by Indonesian Ambassador Astana, H.E. Mr. Rahmat Pramono and Director of South and Central Asia, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia on 29 August 2017

Indonesian Cultural House will organize the main activities of dance training and traditional Indonesian music arts, Indonesian courses, and cooking class of cooking class. On the cultural house will also be available information (including libraries) about history, culture, tourism, Indonesia's economic and industrial development, galleries and demonstrations of Indonesia's flagship products. At present, as many as 5 Kazakhstani have been actively participating in the traditional Indonesian dance training at the Cultural House.

In 2017, in order to train Indonesian traditional arts, especially Angklung music and dance, KBRI Astana has held Angklung and dance training for 3 (three) months, from September to December 2017 by bringing in a professional instructor from Indonesia. This Angklung training is one of the activities at Rumah Budaya Indonesia in addition to Dance Training which has been pioneered since 2015. In the activity mentioned, the trainees of Angklung are still limited to the internal staff of the embassy. However, Angklung performances have successfully be performed at the Embassy's activities and various occasions as many as 10 (ten) times.
