On November 1-3, 2017, the Indonesian Embassy in Astana facilitated 5 (five) companies to participate in the 20th Worldfood Kazakhstan 2017 Exhibition in Almaty City, Kazakhstan on 1-3 November 2017. The exhibition coincides with the Agroworld Kazakhstan Exhibition 2017, Packaging-KazUpack Kazakhstan Exhibition 2017, ColdChain Kazakhstan (refrigeration, cold storage, and transportation) Exhibition, Horex Kazakhstan (everything for hotels, restaurants and supermarkets) Exhibition. The opening ceremony was attended by the Director of Development and Promotion of the Export Ministry of Investment and Development of Kazakhstan, Mr. Anuar Chuzhegulov, Head of the Almaty City Agriculture and Veterinary Office, Aydin Kerimbek, Head of the Russian Export Center office in Kazakhstan, Mr. Igor Kamynin, several heads of foreign diplomatic representation including Indonesian Ambassador to Kazakhstan and covered by both print and electronic journalists.

In 2017, 400 exhibitors from 31 countries such as Austria, Armenia, USA, Belarus, Bulgaria, Hungary, Germany, India, Indonesia, Iran, Spain, Italy, Kazakhstan, Colombia, Korea, Kyrgyzstan, Malaysia, Netherlands , United Arab Emirates, Pakistan, Poland, Russia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Thailand, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, Czech Republic, Sri Lanka, China. Most of the foreign companies participating in this exhibition came from South Korea and India enliven the exhibitions.

In this WorldFood exhibition, the Indonesian booth is filled by several companies representative/participants from Indonesia. On the sidelines of the exhibition, KBRI Astana also promotes Indonesian tourism through distributing tourism brochures about tourist destinations in Indonesia that got enthusiastic and positive responses from visitors. The representatives of Indonesian businessmen and officials who participated in the exhibition include:
1. Department of Plantation and Local Government of West Java featuring tea and coffee products of West Java.
2. The Mayora Group displays Torabica coffee, candy and bakmie.
3. PT. New Tunas Lampung displays products Palm oils (palm oil) and coffee products.
4. PT. Djojonegoro C-1000 featuring Vitamin C-Lemon bottled drink products (health drinks).
5. PT. Sumatera Siberia Kompaniya (trade and Investment) displays coffee, tea, fruits (pineapple, mango, avocado, and banana) and also rubber derivative products (resiprene 35).

Based on statistical data, the number of visitors for this exhibition exceeds 5 thousand people. At the WorldFood Kazakhstan exhibition, entrepreneurs can realize well-defined business goals for both short and long-term prospects such as finding suppliers and partners, getting acquainted with the novelty of finished products, ingredients, and equipment of the food industry market. The exhibition received official support from the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the office of the Mayor of Almaty, Kazakhstan National Chamber of Commerce "Atameken".
