Indonesian Ambassador Held Meetings with Minister of Foreign Affairs, Minister of National Economy and Deputy Minister for Investment and Development of Kazakhstan

On January 30-31, 2017, the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Astana, H.E. Foster Gultom, held meetings with the three high-ranking officials of the Republic of Kazakhstan, namely: (i) Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan, H.E. Mr. Kairat Abdrakhmanov; (Ii) Minister of National Economy of Kazakhstan, H.E. Mr. Timur Suleimenov; and (iii) Deputy Minister for Investment and Development of Kazakhstan, Mr. Erlan Khairov. The meetings were intended for conveying achievements and development of bilateral relations between the two countries that had occurred during the tenure of the Ambassador of the Republic Indonesia to Astana since October 2012 till January 2017.

These three high-ranking officials of the Republic of Kazakhstan expressed their gratitude, and appreciated the positive steps and contributions made by the First Resident Ambassador of Indonesia to Kazakhstan to build, develop, and also strengthen bilateral relations between Indonesia and Kazakhstan.

During a meeting with the Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan H.E. Mr. Kairat Abdrakhmanov, the Indonesian Ambassador congratulated him on his appointment as the new Head of the Foreign Office, and on the new role of Kazakhstan as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council. Meanwhile, Minister Abdrakhmanov also expressed his gratitude and appreciation toward the positive progress of bilateral relations between Indonesia and Kazakhstan, and expressed the hope that relations between the two countries could be enhanced further with the implementation of the existing bilateral mechanisms, such as the Joint Commission Meeting.

In line with the statement made by the Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan, Minister of National Economy, H.E. Mr. Timur Suleimenov also appreciated the positive results made by the First Resident Ambassador of Indonesia to Kazakhstan to develop and strengthen trade and economic relations between Indonesia and Kazakhstan. Both sides agreed to strengthen economic ties with the business community and establish a new roadmap for enhancing economic cooperation between Indonesia and Kazakhstan. 

Meanwhile, during the Ambassador's meeting with the Deputy Minister for Investment and Development, both sides agreed to explore the potential of business opportunities, cooperations, and investment between the two countries.
